What you need to know
Navigating the paperwork and procedures necessary for obtaining or maintaining IMSA certifications can be perplexing without appropriate guidance. Managing the myriad of tasks, from meeting prerequisite requirements to submitting certification applications and declaration releases, is daunting, but assistance is available to help you through the bureaucratic process.
Students can download their certificates right from their IMSA profile.
Quick Help - Videos
1. Please ensure that you meet the prerequisites for the program you wish to attend
Go to the Catalog page and select the program you would like to attend.
Make sure to scroll down to the Prerequisite section. Do you meet the prerequites?
Reminder: You can enroll in any IMSA program regardless of meeting the prerequisites. However, you won’t receive your certificate until all prerequisites are completed and submitted.
2. To enroll or participate in an IMSA program, you will need to have an IMSA ID.
If you have your IMSA login information:
Skip step two, Sign In to your IMSA profile, and follow steps 3-6.
If you don't know your IMSA login: Find my IMSA ID: Video Instructions
A. Go to the Account Search section of IMSA Safety
B. Only search using your first initial and last name—avoid using email or company info. Including too much in the search will prevent the system from finding you. (A common name might require your whole first name.)
C. If you find yourself, Make Note of Your Username
D. If you don't find yourself - STOP! Do not create a new profile! Send us an email
Accessing your profile
A. From the Sign In page, click on the Forgot Password link and enter the Username you just found. IMSA's system will then send a password reset to the email account associated with your IMSA profile.
B. If you havn't received an email within 5 to 10 minutes, check your Spam/Junk folder.
C. If there is nothing in your spam/junk folder, it is possible that your IMSA profile is associated with an old email. STOP! Do not create a new profile! Send us an email
3. In Your IMSA Profile
A. Please ensure that you have completed the About Me section of your profile to enable IMSA to assign you to the appropriate section.
B. Double check that your email address is accurate.
C. Make sure to save and remember your username and password - you're definitely going to need it.
D. If you've created a login on the website, you can add your IMSA username and password to your "My Profile" section. This will allow us to log in as you and assist you in case of an emergency.
4. Completing your prerequisite requirements
Uploading your non-IMSA Workzone
This is for new/first-time Level 1 students only - not renewal students.
Before taking any action, visit the My Certification Record section in your IMSA profile.
If you've already got a Workzone Equivalent in there - DON'T DO THIS!!!
If you do not have a Workzone Equivalent in your profile, here is a video on how to upload your non-IMSA Workzone.: UPLOADING NON-IMSA WORKZONE
5. Completing your Certificate Application/Declaration and Release
It is mandatory to complete a Certificate Application everytime you take an IMSA exam.
Here's a video on how to complete it properly: IMSA TO DO LIST: VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS
6. You're in the Home Stretch...
If everything is done correctly, the "View My Courses" button should appear in the "My Courses" section of your profile. This indicates that you're prepared for the upcoming exam and you're all ready to go.

IMSA exams are all closed-book, meaning no notes, no help from friends, and no access to your phone.
You have a 12-hour window to access your exam, starting at 12 pm on the second day of the program and ending at midnight. Once you begin, you will have 3 hours to complete your exam.
Your exam is proctored.
If you are attending an in-person program, your moderator will proctor your exam.
If you are taking the exam remotely, please be aware that the Integrity Advocate system will monitor your activity. Please read this document for important information about Integrity Advocate.
Exam results are Pass or Fail ONLY; no numeric scores are posted. After IMSA finishes reviewing, results are posted in the "My Courses" section of your IMSA Profile under "Completed Online Courses" (not the exam hosting page).
