This is a paid position, not a volunteer role, and is a great opportunity to share your industry knowledge, gain additional instructional experience, and become more involved with the IMSA community.

- Have at least 2 years of teaching or instructional experience.
- Experience teaching or troubleshooting programs may be used toward the instructional experience requirement.
- Hold an active IMSA certification in the program or subject area you will be teaching.
Industry experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical material clearly are also important qualities for a successful moderator.
📋 Moderator Approval Process
After getting in touch with the Tri-State Section, prospective moderators will complete a three-program training and evaluation process:
1. Observe a Seminar
For your first program, you will observe an experienced moderator conducting the seminar. This gives you an opportunity to become familiar with the program format, instructional material, student interaction, and moderator responsibilities.
2. Assist With a Seminar
During your second program, you will assist an experienced moderator with instruction and program activities while gaining hands-on experience presenting the material.
3. Teach While Being Observed
During your third program, you will take the lead as the instructor while being observed and evaluated.
Following the program, the Tri-State Certification Chair will review your performance. If all requirements have been successfully completed, the Certification Chair can approve you as an IMSA Moderator.
